2. Foraging and plant identification
Foraging and plant identification carry real risks. Some plants are toxic, and some have close lookalikes that are difficult to tell apart.
Do not gather, consume or use any wild plant unless you are certain of its identity and of its suitability for you.
You are responsible for:
- identifying plants correctly
- obtaining any permission needed to forage, and following local laws and access rules
- avoiding polluted, sprayed or otherwise unsafe gathering areas
- considering allergies, contamination and contraindications
- using appropriate hygiene, storage and preparation methods
- keeping plants, preparations and equipment safely away from children and animals
Information on this website cannot account for every local species, lookalike, environmental risk or individual health circumstance.
3. Remedy-making at home
Recipes and remedy-making instructions on this website are shared for personal, home use.
You are responsible for following safe preparation, storage and labelling practices, and for satisfying yourself that a preparation is suitable for the person who will use it.
4. Certification and accreditation
Any certificate awarded by The Crafty Herbalist Academy is an educational certificate. It is not a professional qualification, a licence to practise, or a substitute for accredited clinical training.
The Foundation Course is accredited by the Complementary Medical Association at the date of this disclaimer. Accreditation arrangements and the requirements of other organisations may change.
We cannot guarantee that another institution, employer, professional body or insurer will accept or recognise our certificate. It is your responsibility to check that it meets the requirements of your intended purpose or career path before you rely on it.
5. No guarantee of results
We take reasonable care in preparing what we publish here, but herbal knowledge and scientific understanding continue to develop, and we cannot promise that every page is complete or fully up to date. We may correct and update material without notice.
We make no promises about what you will achieve. What you gain from our courses and resources depends on your own study, practice and circumstances.
