Upcoming Live Classes

These monthly live Zoom sessions are completely optional and sit alongise the core course curriculum.

They’re offered as a bonus space for connection, exploration and deeper learning. You can come live to ask questions, meet other students and take part in relaxed, interactive sessions – or simply watch the recordings later in your own time.

Topics range from individual herb deep dives and seasonal medicine to case studies, guest interviews, herbal history, energetics, remedy-making and practical support for specific health conditions. Think of them as herbal conversations and shared explorations, rather than another set of lessons you need to keep up with.

Inside the Academy, you’ll also find an archive of recorded classes, including:

  • Herb deep dives on red clover, elecampane, sloe berry, rosehip, dandelion, hawthorn, elderberry, rose, burdock, nettle, lemon balm, St John’s wort, mugwort, and more
  • Body system and condition-focused classes on burnout, lung health, diabetes and insulin resistance, dementia, ADHD, POTS, bone health, vaginal health, perimenopause and menopause
  • Practical herbal skills including bespoke blending, herbal energetics, tinctures and extractions, essential oils and herbal constituents
  • Seasonal and household herbalism including spring herbs, summer solstice, winter wellness and growing a medicinal herb garden
  • Herbal history, folklore and plant wisdom with classes on Dioscorides, Culpeper, Avicenna, Hildegard von Bingen, plant communication, Memento Mori, and more

Deep dive into Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)

THURSDAY 21 MAY 2026
10.30am to 12.00pm UK time

Gentle doesn’t mean weak, especially when it comes to this popular herb. Chamomile is a child’s ally, a digestive healer, and a remedy for restless nights. We’ll dive into its medicine, symbolism, and the surprising depth of this common but powerful plant. This session includes a guided experiential tasting session.

Flow and renewal - the lympathic system and its herbal allies

TUESDAY 23 JUNE 2026
10.30am to 11.30am UK TIME

This class explores the body’s inner rivers and how herbs help keep them flowing freely. We’ll look at the close relationship between the lymph, immune, and circulatory systems, and how stagnation can show up as fatigue, swelling, skin issues, or low immunity. We’ll also enjoy an experiential tasting session with calendula, exploring its unique energetics and medicinal qualities.

Summer pre-recorded class 2026

I’m taking a small break from live teaching over the summer so I can catch my breath, spend time with the children, and gather a bit of inspiration for the months ahead. You’ll still have plenty to explore though, a prerecorded session will be available for you, ready to dive into whenever it suits you – something to learn from while the rest of life settles into its summer rhythm.

Deep dive into Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

TUESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2026
10.30am to 12.00pm UK time

In this class we’ll give yarrow the attention it deserves. It’s one of those herbs that has followed humans through every age of history, carrying stories of warriors, midwives, healers, and hedge-folk in its feathery leaves. We’ll explore its folklore, its unique energetics, and the way it works in the body when you take the time to really understand it. This class includes an experiential tasting session so you can get a true feel for this remarkable medicinal plant. There’s nothing quite like meeting a herb through your own senses.

Navigating herbs in pregnancy: myths, risks, and safe allies

WEDNESDAY 21 OCTOBER 2026
10.30am to 12.00pm UK TIME

Herbs in pregnancy can feel like a minefield when every other book says to avoid. This class offers a clearer path. We’ll look at what we actually know about herbal safety in pregnancy, why blanket warnings exist, and how to understand the difference between genuine risk and simple caution. You’ll learn which herbs have a long and reliable history of safe use, which ones need more care, and which ones are best avoided altogether. More importantly, you’ll learn why – so you can make informed, confident decisions rather than relying on confusing lists.

Bitter medicine - digestion, fire & the forgotten art of appetite

TUESDAY 17 NOVEMBER 2026
10.30am to 12.00pm UK time

In this class, we’ll explore the old and often overlooked role of bitter herbs in Western herbal medicine – not just as “digestive aids”, but as plants that wake up the mouth, the stomach, the liver, the gallbladder and the wider process of assimilation. As we move towards winter, digestion can become slower, heavier and more reluctant. Richer foods return, the cold settles in, and the body often asks for a bit more help to keep the inner fire alive. The session will include an experiential herbal tasting session with a small selection of bitter herbs.

Old female figures of winter folklore & the herbal year

WEDNESDAY 16 DECEMBER 2026
10.30am to 12.00pm UK TIME

You may have heard of the old female figures of winter folklore – from Baba Yaga in the deep forest to the Elder Mother in the hedgerow – and the plants that gather around the dark end of the year. In this session, we’ll look at winter herbs, trees and household plants such as elder, juniper, pine, mugwort, etc through folklore, traditional use, symbolism and seasonal medicine. This will be a slower, story-led class rather than a heavy materia medica session, with space to reflect on the herbal year we are leaving behind and what we want to carry forward. Bring a cup of tea and a little notebook if you’d like to join the reflection.

The many faces of inflammation - matching herbs to patterns

TUESDAY 19 JANUARY 2027
10.30am to 12.00pm UK time

Inflammation can show up as heat, redness and irritation, or as puffiness, heaviness, brain fog and sluggish digestion. Sometimes it is connected to chronic stress, poor sleep and a nervous system that has been on alert for too long. In this class, we’ll explore inflammation through a practical herbal and humoral lens, exploring why generic “anti-inflammatory” advice doesn’t always work. We’ll look at different inflammatory patterns, how to recognise them, and how to match herbs, food and lifestyle support with more skill. There will also be a short tasting session with meadowsweet tea (Filipendula ulmaria).

Fennel - sweetness, digestion and the medicine of warmth

THURSDAY 25 FEBRUARY 2027
10.30am to 12.00pm UK TIME

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is so familiar that it’s easy to underestimate.  In this herbal deep dive, we’ll explore fennel as an aromatic kitchen medicine for digestion, appetite, wind, spasm, coughs, milk flow, and the old household art of bringing comfort back to the body. We’ll look at its folklore, energetics, traditional uses and modern relevance, from digestive blends to women’s health and respiratory support. This class will include an experiential tasting session with fennel seed.
