Upcoming Live Classes

These monthly live Zoom sessions are completely optional and are not part of the core course curriculum.

They’re offered as a bonus space for connection, exploration, and deeper learning. You can attend live to ask me questions directly, meet other students, and take part in a relaxed, interactive learning space. Each session is also recorded, so you can catch up any time that suits you. Topics vary widely – from seasonal herbs and remedy-making to case studies, Q&As, and the occasional experiential tasting session. Think of these as herbal conversations and shared explorations, rather than structured lessons – designed to enrich your herbal journey, whenever you feel called to join.

Inside the Academy, you’ll find over 30 recorded classes covering:

– Deep dives into beloved herbs like nettle, elderberry, hawthorn, dandelion, and rose.
– Herbal wisdom through history, from Hildegard von Bingen to Avicenna.
– Exploration of herbs, nutrition, and ancestral wisdom to support the transition through perimenopause and menopause.
– Practical skills in blending, energetics, and extractions.
– Guided meditative tasting sessions.
– Support for health conditions including ADHD, diabetes, dementia, and bone health.
– Guest expert interviews on aromatherapy, vaginal health, and movement therapy.

Herbal medicine isn’t just about knowing which plants to use, it’s about understanding how and why they work. In this class, we’ll explore the world of herbal constituents in a way that is both practical and sensory, so you can learn not just through knowledge, but through taste and direct experience. You’ll receive a suggested list of herbs, so you can taste along as we explore how different plant compounds affect the body. This class is designed to make herbal chemistry accessible and practical, helping you create more effective remedies while deepening your connection to plants.

Lost & forgotten herbs - re-discovering valuable allies

WEDNESDAY 17 DECEMBER 2025
10.30am to 12.00pm UK TIME

Not all herbal allies are well-known. While some plants have gained popularity, others have been forgotten – not because they’re ineffective, but because of changing traditions, industry trends, and shifts in herbal knowledge over time. In this class, we’ll look at lesser-known but powerful plant medicines, including forgotten wild herbs, underused domestic plants, and once-revered medicinal species that deserve a second look. This class will give you practical ways to integrate these hidden gems into your formulations, helping you expand your herbal toolkit beyond the usual go-to remedies. We will also have a meditation with Heather (Calluna vulgaris).

Dioscorides and De Materia Medica

TUESDAY 28 APRIL 2026
10.30am to 11.30am UK TIME

Nearly two thousand years ago, a Greek physician named Dioscorides travelled through the Roman Empire, gathering knowledge of hundreds of medicinal plants. His writings became De Materia Medica, a text so influential it shaped the practice of medicine and pharmacy for more than fifteen centuries. In this class, we’ll step into his world: exploring who he was, the context in which he worked, and the plants he described. We’ll trace how his observations still echo through modern herbal medicine, from Latin names to traditional uses that have stood the test of time.

Summer pre-recorded class 2026

I’m taking a small break from live teaching over the summer so I can catch my breath, spend time with the children, and gather a bit of inspiration for the months ahead. You’ll still have plenty to explore though, a prerecorded session will be available for you, ready to dive into whenever it suits you – something to learn from while the rest of life settles into its summer rhythm.

WEDNESDAY 21 OCTOBER 2026

Herbs in pregnancy can feel like a minefield when every other book says to avoid. This class offers a clearer path. We’ll look at what we actually know about herbal safety in pregnancy, why blanket warnings exist, and how to understand the difference between genuine risk and simple caution. You’ll learn which herbs have a long and reliable history of safe use, which ones need more care, and which ones are best avoided altogether. More importantly, you’ll learn why – so you can make informed, confident decisions rather than relying on confusing lists.
